Hey, Mr. Postman!

We love mail so thanks for delivering us some!

That crazy Claudia at House of Shine is always coming up with some wild and fun idea but I'll be honest. I kind of went into this project dragging my feet and thinking I would make up some excuse not to do it Wednesday night.

You know- the boys had too much homework. I ran out of time and didn't get it done. I couldn't think of anything. I had to pluck my eyebrows. Drew needed brain surgery.

Those kinds of things.

At about 1:30 I thought maybe I could finagle some kind of heart to put on there but had no idea how I was going to do it. After going to Chick-fil-a and sitting in the longest line EVER. I swear, it was out on to the highway we finally got home at about 6:45.

I ate. I changed clothes. I dug in and got busy.

I gathered some cardboard boxes and some hangers. Cut and tape while holding my tongue to one side and applying pressure with my big toe. Once the heart started taking shape I realized that I was going to need some foam core board and some red spray paint.

Who wants to go to Hobby Lobby? Yay. I mean, YAY!

Cut, tape, paint. Cut, tape, paint.

I'm pretty darn pleased with it. And I was done before 9:30 or so. Just think how cool it could have been if I had started on it when Claudia first announced it! Oy!

I put a $5 gift card from Starbucks in the mailbox for our postal delivery person this morning.

Claudia decorated her mailbox as a Lion.

after Sex on the Beach.
I've played with Fuzzy Navels,
the sweetest of them peach.

I've been Screwed by the Driver,
done the Kamikaze death dive,
I've been stomped on by that Turkey,
and somehow, somehow I survived.

So, let the executive have his whiskey,
let the debutante sip her wine,
Just give me a tall, cold beer
and I'll be fine!

Marshmallows and Blogs

I have to get pictures from my friend Cassie- aka Luci Lemon- from this past weekend! The boys and I drove to their house in Montgomery to hang out for the weekend. It was so much fun. We played on the zip line, they jumped on the trampoline and we roasted marshmallows. JB announced excitedly, and to my surprise, that this was the first time he was ever going to roast marshmallows! How did I let you get to be 7 years old and never roast marshmallows? I can't tell you how many S'mores he ate or how many marshmallows Drew burned but I can tell you it was exciting to see the fun they were having. I can't wait to post the pictures.

On other notes of beginnings, I have started yet another blog. Give Me 1,000 Kisses is where I hope to keep you updated on my current art project. Right now, I just have the how it started story and the instructions on what to do if you would like to participate. I have about 20 lip prints and need to get started. Getting started is on my to do list for this weekend. Along with cleaning up that place I call home.

I am working on a new project this year on something I started years ago. I am recruiting people to send me their lip prints. To get started, first send me your lip print applied to any kind of paper- copy, yellow pad, napkin, coffee filter, you get the picture.

Paper Paintings

I have found a new artist that I just love! Her name is Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson. It is my goal to own one of her pieces (or more) AND to attend one of her workshops. In fact, I'm hoping to obtain both for my 40th birthday next year. There. I have officially put it out to the universe.

What I Made with My 20 Year Old Paper

This fish were magnets. The flowers was one big magnet. The shark is a prelude to our summer shark party coming up this summer.
